Job Description
• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to
solicit orders, or talks with customers on the sales floor or by phone.
• Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning
and organizing daily work schedules to call and visit existing and potential sales outlets.
• Collects and tracks payments due from retail stores.
• Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable
features.
• Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production
and delivery schedules.
• Prepares reports of business transactions, keeps expense accounts and mileage logs.
• Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to
date.
• Tracks stock levels
• Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing personnel.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Occasional weekend work is required.
• Attends trade shows as requested.
Provide accurate information to retailers/ wholesalers (e.g. product features, pricing and
after-sales services)
• Answers questions about products and service
• Ensure racks are fully stocked in each store
• Manage returns of merchandise as required
• Coordinate with the Retail Sales Representatives team to provide excellent customer
service
• Inform clients about discounts and special offers
• Provide product feedback and retail store feedback to the management
• Stay up-to-date with new products/services
• Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature.
• Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call
reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
• Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products,
new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
• Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and
competitive developments.
• Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions,
preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
• Maintains records on area and customer sales.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualification Criteria
Education & Experience
• College degree
• Flexibility to travel across cities for retail distribution
• Three to five years of industry sales experience
• Understanding of the retail sales process
• Familiarity with consumer behaviour
• Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures
• Track record of achieving sales quotas
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
