Job Description:

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer in the Oil & Gas Pipeline Industry, you will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment used in oil and gas pipeline projects. Your primary goal will be to support the senior engineers and contribute to the successful execution of pipeline projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Aide to review Auto-cad drawings and prepare BOM/ MTO from the drawings.
  • Technical Drawings: Prepare and review technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for mechanical components and systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Project Documentation: Assist in the creation and maintenance of project documentation, including reports, technical specifications, and engineering calculations, to ensure proper record-keeping and facilitate project coordination.
  • Material Selection: Collaborate with the team to select appropriate materials for pipeline components, considering factors such as pressure, temperature, corrosion resistance, and environmental conditions.
  • Quality Assurance: Support quality control activities by participating in inspections, tests, and evaluations of mechanical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Field Support: Provide on-site assistance during construction and installation activities, ensuring that mechanical systems are installed correctly and functioning properly.
  • Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving mechanical issues, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all stages of project execution, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate safety measures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including fluid mechanics, and material science.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to pipeline design and construction (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software for creating technical drawings and models.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
